Tear Troughs - Under-Eye Dark Circles
Are your eyes looking tired, hollow, with shadows and dark circles? The dark circles between the cheek and eye-lid is known as the tear troughs.
At our clinic in Clitheroe (Lancashire) we have have a number of treatments to treat tear tough or dark circles around the eyes. With age, we lose volume around the eye area due to a number of factors such as collagen loss, bone mass, elastin and hyaluronic loss. This results in under-eye dark circles, hollows and eye bags around this area and sagging of the under-eye skin.
This is a very common problem, which can often affect many people, yet there are a number of very effective treatments available to treat this condition.
Dermal Fillers FOR FRESHER EYES
Dermal Fillers can be used to treat tear troughs. This is a minimal invasive treatment, where results are seen immediately. Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid (HA). This is a naturally occurring substance found in the body and important substance responsible for hydrated and youthful-looking skin.
Dermal fillers plump out hollows and dark circles by lifting-up and supporting the skin tissues to create a much lighter appearance around the tear troughs. hyaluronic acid (HA) will also hydrates the skin and plumps fine lines and wrinkles, leaving a naturally youthful look.
This treatment is expertly administered by Dr Sobia at our clinic, and only takes around 20-30 minutes and last between 6-12 months. Although results are immediately visible, the final result will gradually unfold after two weeks, leaving a beautiful result, where eyes will look fresher and less tired.
Tear Trough Tightening with Exilis Radio-frequency
Another treatment option for tired, dull looking eyes is our Exilis Radio-frequency treatment. Exilis uses controlled deep heat to the tissue causing new collagen fibres to produce and tighten loose skin and permanently reduce fat.
A probe is gently guided around the tear trough area, which tightens and contours the tear trough area. The treatment is completely painless and takes around 15 mins.
A series of 3-6 treatments are required to achieve the desired result, spaced 1-2 weeks apart. Furthermore, this treatment can be combined with our Dermal Fillers and also PDO Threads if required. Results usually visible after 3 treatments, but unfold gradually at the end of the course of treatments. A top-up treatment is recommended 1-2 times per year.
PDO Threads for Tear Troughs
PDO threads can be used for tear troughs, which give a natural lifting and tightening affect, with longer lasting results of up to 2 years. Threads can provide a viable alternative to those individuals who would like improvements without the use of dermal fillers.
Threads are collagen engines. After specialised surgical threads are placed under the skin, the body then generates its own collagen to maintain the lifting effect. Visible results are immediate and will improve with time as collagen is produced.
Threads can also be used in combination with Dermal Fillers and Exilis Radio-frequency.
